An access log is a thorough list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a particular site. Every file which was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have a single webpage with 3 embedded pics, one video and one embedded text file, for example, the access log will contain a total of six entries - one for each of the six files which were accessed when the visitor opened the page. A log usually shows the file name and path, the date, plus the visitor’s OS, Internet browser and IP address. Oftentimes you could also find the referrer Internet sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The data which an access log file provides is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a personal computer and used to prepare reports on the efficiency of a website, aside from the web stats that your server may have produced.
Access Log Manager in Cloud Hosting
If you choose one of our cloud hosting solutions, you will receive detailed access logs for all your sites. After you sign in to your Hepsia Control Panel, you can check out the Access/Error Logs section where you will see an extensive list of the domains and subdomains which you have added or created inside the web hosting account. You will only have to click on the On button, that's found on the right-hand side of each and every hostname and our cloud platform shall start generating logs straight away. To disable this function, you will have to follow the same exact steps and click on the Off button. The domains and subdomains could be handled individually and whenever you want. You'll find a download link inside the Logs section of the Control Panel for every log created by our system, so that you can save the file to your laptop or computer and view it or use it via some log processing software.
Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Hosting
Our state-of-the-art hosting platform will generate access logs for every single site hosted inside a semi-dedicated server account, provided that this function is activated. All domains and subdomains that you have shall be listed inside the Access/Error Logs section of the Hepsia CP, which we offer with all the accounts, so if you would like our system to start producing logs for any of them, you should just click on the compact button on the right side of the respective domain/subdomain and change the default Off option to On. You could deactivate this feature at any time by following the same steps. You can find a Download link for each log within the very same section of the CP, so you could save the content gathered by our system in .txt format with only a mouse click. An existing log file could be downloaded even after the option has been deactivated, so you will still be able to look at the data that has already been generated.
